YIM was initiated with the unique vision of social entrepreneurship to influence the higher education and scientific community. This initiative was founded in 2009, by a group of scientists and entrepreneurs from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Harvard University – to provide an interactive platform for young scientists from different disciplines to network with thought leaders and policy-makers from academic and industrial institutions.
The 3-day event allows attendees from the various parts of the world to participate in a myriad of panel discussions, networking sessions and keynote speeches by eminent scientists and policy makers. The final 2-days closed session provides opportunities for 50-60 young researchers, ready to start their independent career, to attend panel discussions and network so as to explore their role in scientific advancement. This event is organized in partnership with MIT Indian student organization- SANGAM, the MIT-India Program.
